FOREST LOCATIONS
This central part of the Slavonian plains has distinctively deep, clay-rich soils, highly favorable for the Slavonian pedunculate oak (Quercus robur).
These forest giants grow in a soil rich in gravel, sand, clay and loess, located in lowland forests at 90 to 120 m above sea level. The extremely fertile soil increases the growth rate of pedunculate oak, which grows in the company of ash tree, field elm, lime tree, hornbeam and fruit trees.
